The mission

AI has the potential to be one of the most important tools in modern medicine.

We exist to help that potential become real — responsibly, transparently, and in the open.

Why AI in healthcare matters

Modern medicine generates more data than any clinician can reasonably review. Artificial intelligence, applied carefully, can help surface patterns in that data — supporting earlier detection, better-informed decisions, and more equitable access to expertise. It is not a replacement for medical professionals; it is a tool that, when built responsibly, can extend what they are able to do.

What we fund

  • Open-source models and datasets that reduce duplicated effort across the research community.
  • Applied research where AI can meaningfully improve diagnostic quality, triage, or continuity of care.
  • Access-oriented tools that lower the cost and complexity of care in under-resourced settings.
  • Rigorous evaluation, benchmarking, and safety work — not just capability demonstrations.

How we work

Contributions arrive on a public Solana wallet that anyone can inspect. Allocations are documented and communicated openly, and we prioritize efforts whose methods and results can be shared with the wider research community. We hold ourselves to a simple standard: don't over-promise, don't obscure trade-offs, and never present research directions as medical advice.

A note on responsibility

Medical Shield AI does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing on this website is intended to guarantee any specific health outcome. Research is uncertain by nature — supporting it means supporting the process, not a promise.
